New lightroom mobile update follow user’s image cleaning and preset error. Soon after, Adobe released a patch called 5.4.1, confirming that those who have unfortunately used the 5.4 version will lose data and not be able to get it back.
On the morning of August 20, many users of Lightroom Mobile photo editing software for iOS have been on fire after a new update wiped out all the data in their device, including image and color presets.
The buggy version, number 5.4, affects free users (not using Adobe’s cloud automatic service). One Reddit user said that he lost all his stock of photos in the past 2 years.
“I have been calling Adobe for two days in a row, and they said that the lost photos and color scheme cannot be recovered. All I got back was an apology. It took me 2 years to take the photos, and they just apologized. ”
Soon after, Adobe released a patch called 5.4.1, confirming that those who have unfortunately used the 5.4 version will lose data and not be able to get it back. In a blog post at the Adobe forum, its Quality Engineer, Rikk Flohr , reads:
“We have received a bug with Lightroom 5.4.0 on iPhone and iPad, some customers have lost their photos and presets after updating. New version 5.4.1 has been released to fix this, but when a new version is downloaded, lost data will not be recovered. We deeply regret the loss of user data. ”
It is not clear how many people this error affects, but even the small number of affected people is still unacceptable when a photo editing software loses both the photos and the edits of users, with only one updated version. Here’s also a word of caution for photographers: always store your photos and presets in different places, as you can lose everything in editing software (or hard drive, storage service). faulty.
