Many of us use the word “PC” to distinguish laptops and desktops without knowing that such a method is completely wrong. “PC” stands for “Personal Computer”, meaning personal computer, it does not distinguish laptop or desktop, just a personal computer, it is called a PC.
In the old days, at the dawn of computers, it was an extremely expensive device that could only be accessed by governments and large corporations. However, with the rapid development of semiconductor technology, computers are becoming more powerful, cheaper and more popular. Consumer computers for ordinary users began to appear and they were called personal computers (PCs) to distinguish them from the terrible types of computers of businesses and the state. When the computer came to Vietnam, the computer was mostly a desktop computer and at that time almost nobody used the word “PC” to call it, instead we called it primarily with the name “dear”. “computer”. I don’t know when the word “PC” has become a word to refer to a desktop computer with the full original concept of the word brother. In my opinion, maybe the reason for this call comes from distinguishing desktop and handheld computers, from deskstop, it is difficult to read and still strange, while “Pi-xi” is close. familiar and much easier to call.
The real cause is many, not to mention everything, but we all see that today, the word “desktop”, “desktop”, “desktop” or “desktop” is very rare. but only the word “PC” is most popular to refer to the desktop concept.
So, how to call it right?
PC: Short for “Personal Computer”, meaning “Personal Computer”, it does not distinguish laptop or desktop but just a personal computer, it is called a PC.
