How to fix Not enough RAM Photoshop error

How to fix Not enough RAM Photoshop error. Adobe Photoshop is used mostly by professionals for image and video editing purposes. With its various tools, Photoshop allows you to perform heavy pixel-based renderings that consume a large portion of your system memory. The Photoshop application itself consumes about 1-1.5 GB of RAM on startup, which is significant memory compared to other everyday applications.

That said, some users have reported getting an error that says the following is not in blue: Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM). As the statement implies, Photoshop cannot perform any task because there is no free memory. However, that is not always the case, as even computers with 32 GB of total RAM (or higher) sometimes experience this problem. Upon investigation, users noticed that there was still a significant amount of RAM left, but Photoshop continued to show the same error.

So what causes Photoshop to prompt this error and how to fix it?

What Causes the Error?

If Adobe Photoshop repeats the error stated, the application will no longer be able to open the file or perform any other action. Although the message says that there is not enough memory on the system to perform the task, that is not always the case.

Memory errors in Photoshop can occur due to any of the following reasons:

There isn’t any available memory for the application to use.
You are using a pirated copy of Photoshop.
Photoshop is restricted to using a limited amount of the total available RAM.
Outdated or damaged GPU drivers.
Before we begin to tackle these issues, we’d like to remind you that because Photoshop is a resource-intensive application, it requires a significant amount of RAM on your computer.

Adobe itself recommends a minimum of 8 GB of built-in memory. However, it can run on memory lower than that but is not recommended as it can lead to significant performance drops, such as lag and in some cases, system crashes.
