Omni 10 Camera- HP laptop camera error – To get started, connect a camera! Maybe since the Windows 8.1 update? HP chat support tried to reinstall driver which did not work and basically they have no idea and want to do a factory restore. This would wipe all my programs like Word, Excel etc.
I removed the Intel Imaging Signal device and driver in Device manager device then did scan for hardware changes. The device was detected OK and the Camera is back working.

I have a domain connected HP ElitePad 1000 G2 with Windows 8.1 x64 that a user brought in. When you try to open the camera, it shows “To get started, connect a camera”. I’ve spent hours researching and tried every solution I could find, to no avail.
Under Device Manager, Camera Sensor IMX175 & Camera Sensor OV2722 both show “This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE”
I’ve uninstalled both drivers and reinstalled multiple times from here. I removed Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor 2400 and re-added it as well. Restarted many times.
I’m assuming it’s a hardware issue but the warranty expired in April, so I’m hoping not. I don’t use the tablet so I cannot guarantee it wasn’t dropped, although it has a good protective case on it.

The Device Manager detects hardware components that are connected or at least visible to the Device Manager.
In the case of a hardware component that is detected but for which the driver is at fault, you would likely see the component listed and perhaps a tiny yellow triangle indicating the driver is corrupted, missing, or out of date.
