Unfortunately, it seems that the drive has bad sectors related problem. The thing is that, you can’t really fix that and the bad sectors would continue to appear until the drive fails. This could happen in a year. Yet, on the other hand, the drive could fail in a week or in a day.
This is why, my suggestion would be to back up the data that is stored on the drive.
Is the drive under warranty? As you’ve mentioned that it is a year old, I believe it should be. If this is the case, then you can just contact the place you got it from or contact to the warranty support center nearest.
