The Vietnam cat and dog slaughterhouse is CLOSED!! The sign is taken down, the 20 cats and 5 dogs have been rescued and are in our care, and no animal will ever have to die at the former slaughterhouse again.
After two full days of sweat and tears, all the work paid off as all the animals are safe now – but sadly, with one exception. One cat, Nola, passed away yesterday due to some severe health problems she must have suffered when stolen by the meat thieves.
As our team were still grieving her loss, they received a call from the former slaughterhouse owner – a new cat had just been dropped off there! Of course, the owner stuck to his promise to never ever hurt a cat again and called right away. But because the team had left and were already at the rescue sanctuary, taking care of the other saved animals, there was only one way to get her – in a taxi! Instead of being killed, this lucky little cat enjoyed a VIP transfer to the clinic.
We can’t even begin to thank you enough for all your support during the past few weeks and months. We know that you’ve been following our updates on this mission and are just so happy that the slaughterhouse is now closed down for good.
But this is just the start. There are many more places like this and millions of animals still caught up in this awful trade across Vietnam. Please continue to support us until we’ve ended this trade once and for all. Thank you!
